Qué lindo fue verlos en el Zoom la semana pasada. Recuerden que nos volvemos a ver la semana que viene para seguir practicando y avanzar con nuestro proyecto de nuestro día especial o celebración preferida.

Los vamos a corregir durante el Zoom la semana que viene. A continuación les dejo un texto de la lectura un poquito más simple y algunas imágenes para entender el vocabulario nuevo.

Are all celebrations fixed in the calendar?
Hi! I’m Apikalia and I live in Kailua, a beautiful city in Hawaii. My favourite celebration is Luau. Mum and Dad plan this celebration. First, they make a list of guests. They invite my extended family and a lot of friends.
Our house is on the coast. Mum prepares a tiki bar on the beach and decorates the tables with palm tree leaves. She usually prepares cupcakes and fruit juice.
Dad always prepares salads and my brother and I prepare skewers with veggies or fruit.We love doing them! We prepare lots of them.
Then we get ready to receive our guests. Mum and I wear hula costumes and my dad and my brother wear loose cotton trousers.
After that we receive our guests with traditional lei (made with paper flowers) to say “Welcome!”.
I love this celebration because all my relatives and friends come to my house. We play luau games and dance. We can celebrate it on any day of the year.
